South Harbour Pines woodfired pizza: Reviews & Ratings
Little restaurant along the Cabot Trail. Busy place, they do Woodfire pizza. Crust is thin, just the way I like it so it didn't sit heavy at all. This pizza was perfect for my restrictive dietary requirements. I really liked the pizza, but wasn't a fan of the "garlic fingers". Limited indoor seating area. Several people were eating in their cars, and I ate outside. A bit of a wait for food order. If you are stopping in, especially when they get busy, have patience for your food order. Otherwise....A-.
Pizzas are all 12” and cooked in the wood fire after your order. Pizzas were delicious! Didn’t expect such level of good pizza in this area to be honest. Wow.
If you're doing the Cabot Trail drive... don't drive by... drive in!! The place is busy but the wood fired pizza is worth the wait! Crust is super and toppings are fresh and tasty! Top it off with an AMAZING ginger molasses cookie... if you're lucky enough to get one! Picnic tables outside... and we discovered that you can order ahead and they'll have it waiting for you when you get there!! Parking can be a little tricky depending on the time of day
Pizza was fantastic, we had margarita and pep’n cheese, both were delicious! The latte we ordered, however, were amateur, and not very good. The girl did say she’s still learning, but she was leaving the espresso shots there for almost 10 mins before frothing the milk, and the milk was not done well, full of large bubbles….but hey, they were probably known for their pizza, and I probably should just ordered an espresso instead.
Amazed at this woodfired pizza place! We just discovered them. We normally drive to Halifax for woodfired pizza. They're open year round, which is mind blowing on this island. We tried the pep and cheese, house calzone and carni. My favorite was carni with the drizzled honey. They have great treats. We had the chocolate cake and date square. They carry lots of nice stuff, including 00 flour if you like making your own pizza. Will definitely come back!!
This place is very popular and for good reason we got there right at opening which was 12:00 and when we arrive there was already three people ahead of us the pizza was the best probably in the top three of best firewood pizzas I've ever had in my life the iced coffees were exceptional and so many different flavors we also got a dessert cookie which was a good choice this is a must stop if you are ever in the area if I'm ever back I would definitely stop at this place again
I ordered the Funghi ("fun Guy" : mushrooms) pizza. I'm afraid my pizza's taste was completely over taken by the hot pepper flakes put on the pizza. I have a mild to medium spicy tolerance but I think the pepper flakes were so fresh that they were very strong. So I couldn't quite taste the pizza . I don't remember seeing on the menu that it was a spicy pizza nor the peppers in the ingredients but I may be wrong for the ingredients list. Had I known I would have asked for it without the flakes because I like the taste of mushrooms. I paid 26$ for a mushroom pizza overtaken by pepper flakes that gave me overwhelmed taste buds .
Hands down best pizza on Cape Breton. Authentic Italian wood oven, proper dough and Fior di latte made it a must order. We stumbled upon this place quite accidentally while staying a night in Dingwall. I ordered one right away, Margherita being my favorite with this style, and actually just stayed inside the restaurant to eat it. Fresh out of the oven is the best. Owner was super friendly and you can tell just wants to make a delicious pizza. Her staff were young but listened to her as they prepared step by step. Well worth a 2 hour drive for me to get a pizza. They also have other Italian items for purchase such as pastas, sauces, etc
